History of the W150

The Mercedes-Benz Type 770 Grosser W150 represented the final and most refined iteration of the legendary Großer Mercedes platform.

Development began in 1937 as an evolution of the successful W07 model with enhanced displacement and supercharger efficiency.

Production commenced in 1938 with exclusive allocation to government officials and international dignitaries requiring state transport.

Manufacturing ceased in 1943 as World War II resource constraints and Allied bombing devastated German automotive production capacity.
